Darwin and the Dinosaur

Darwin and the Dinosaur is a melodic post Punk, powerpop band. The band comprises of Alan Hiom on bass and vocals, Alex Ware on guitar and vocals, Ben Piper on Guitar and Joe Mears on drums. The band are good friends that make great music, love playing live but most of all, having a laugh (as a DIY band, hard work has to be in equal measure to fun).
They formed in late in 2008 from the ashes of disbanded local favorites, Alan (saleontomorrow, welcomethetourist, battlements) joined forces with Joe and Alex (The Departure Lounge) to create a 90’s melodic punk sound with a modern indie outlook and strong work ethics. After a short while Darwin and the Dinosaur began to play all over the UK (including a secret Get Cape Wear Cape Fly support slot!), recorded two EPs and played at internet and local radio sessions. Whenever you check the band's MySpace there will always be multiple local and out of town dates.
The future seems bright for Darwin and the Dinosaur because being part of thriving Norwich music scene means there is still much more to come.
