Lotte Kings and Thomas Steward are two emerging artists that are exhibiting their work alongside internationally renowned, professional artists at Mandell’s Gallery, off Elm Hill in Norwich.
Mandell's Gallery was founded in 1965 and is one of Norwich and Norfolk's most respected art galleries. The gallery originally specialised in 19th Century Norwich School painters but has expanded greatly over the years to include a more diverse collection of traditional and contemporary art.
The pair are enjoying the experience of seeing their work on public display and are looking forward to the feedback from the visitors of the exhibition.
Lotte Kings is a graduate of Norwich University College of the Arts. Her work explores the relationship between florals and patterns whilst combining traditional techniques and modern technology.
Thomas Steward (AKA Tommy Human), who is currently studying illustration in Hertfordshire, says his work is mainly focused on “developing his own unique visual language of illustration, as well as striving to create individuality in the stencil art movement”.
Rachel Allen, of Mandell’s Gallery, told SNYA Radio "It's been a wonderful opportunity to be involved in the project, promoting young artists of today". Rachel explained that Mandell’s Gallery donated the exhibition space in their Christmas show as part of the somewhereto_, a nationwide project funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity creating a lasting cultural legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Rachel went on to say that visitors to Mandell’s Gallery will be able to view Lotte and Thomas’s paintings up until 10th January 2012.
